papyrus in his vanilla battle, does NOT move AT ALL not even his cape moves. he is a static PNG. how much do characters that do NOT want to kill you move in the base game? they remain mostly stationary. they are purposefully not putting their all in just so they dont kill you toriel: looks side to side, gasps when you die. not much else asgore: bobs up and down but not much movement. does not want to kill you but has to. napstablook: he is depressed and most of the minor battles. these characters dont move much, they dont want to kill you and are not concentrating. how much do characters that WANT to kill you and are putting at least a majority of their concentration on killing you? they move, some moderately some a lot sans: bobs up and down; left and right. changes expressions and gestures a lot. photoshop flowey: cant go a singular milisecond without moving any part of his body asriel/god of hyperdeath: flies around literally all across the battle mettaton: dances like they have never ever danced before these characters concentrate on killing you and almost all of them move around a lot. papyrus, while literally being a cardboard cutout in his fight, can summon a huge ass bone larger than the bullet board by a large margin, 7000 bones before the huge bone, can spell sentences using bones as attacks, and even toby fox himself HAD to steal his special attack. ^^ keep in mind he does this while not moving a nanometer: not concentrating AT ALL. not to mention he is the ONLY MONSTER who can control their magic to a degree where he can make them not kill you regardless of anything. even toriel cant do this. undyne even says that he is "pretty friggin tough" and the only reason he isnt a royal guard is that "he is too kind and forgiving" i think its safe to assume papyrus could be this strong canonically

I cannot explain how much Nostalgia this brings me, quarantine was amazing. It wasn’t the time that I found out about Undertale but the time I had so much time to myself and I got into Undertale and it’s AUs heavily and Essentially having a whole Undertale phase (which I enjoyed don’t get me wrong). There was nothing like getting off from Online school and then playing some Roblox Undertale games, that was the life, specifically Undertale Last Corridor, Test Place, and Undertale Judgement Day. The whole reason I started getting into AU stuff was legit because I found Undertale Last Corridor in like mid 2020, then slowly it slowly started getting me hooked to rhe product, and going beyond just Roblox Undertale games, There were some other games too, but I forgot about those. But those were the way to go. Also AU Content like Glitchtale was a banger back then, I was always rooting for Betty lmao I remember when I finally got my hands on Undertale in Xbox Game Pass back in mid 2021 and ran a True pacifist route, I legit shed some tears because that is some strong stuff, the ost, the characters, the fact that you could have killed everyone but you didn’t, and the credits. Even though I knew how everything played out, I felt like I was in the moment, for the Omega Flowey fight, I struggled alot with Asgore and The Asriel fight and his ost. Phenomenal game, thank you Toby. Disbelief was one of the first ever “AUs” (Actually an AT) i was introduced to, I found out about it I think from a mashup reaction video and from there I found more content about it and is one of the reasons I got hooked myself to the concept of AUs and stuff. The music, everything about this AT is so fire, my personal favorite is this, Backbone because of its insane upbeat and how you can tell there’s alot going on within the song. From Papyrus breathing heavy to Undyne being summoned to the game of Ping Pong. All around phenomenal ost. Definitely up there as one of the AUs/ATs with amazing music. This was also one of my gotos to watch Gacha undertale reacts to disbelief papyrus, etc etc. I miss those times, from going to the Supermarket with my Dad and Grandma then coming home to play some ULC in 2020 or UJD in 2021, listening to and discovering Undertale and AU themes, roleplaying in discord Undertale servers, (yes, something I also used to do) watching Undertale Gacha content (yes im guilty of this, that shit used to hit, especially the reaction to animations like that Christmas party AU thing and AU fights like Last Breath, Disbelief Papyrus and Glitchtale), Staying up extremely late on my phone watching said content, I had to always charge my phone fully beforehand because I had a LG Stylo Plus 4 that was passed down to me back in 2019, and the battery life was completely ass so you had to make the most of it and wouldn’t charge unless you had it in a specific place. All around, amazing year, amazing time to be alive. 2020-2021, never forget. So much time has passed, so quickly too, 2021 was just yesterday and now it’s 3 years ago, time files man.
